Michael J. Bramnick
Michael J. Bramnick has been practicing law for nearly 20 years and focuses on all aspects of civil litigation including contract disputes, residential and commercial real estate disputes, business torts, construction litigation including mechanic’s liens and collections for contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers, and general post-judgment collections and enforcement matters. Mike is a zealous litigator, advocate and trusted advisor for his clients. He brings a pragmatic and analytical approach to evaluating claims early in the dispute process to customize strategies that are designed to best serve his clients’ needs. In some cases, this is achieved through alternative dispute resolution such as mediation. When a negotiated resolution cannot be obtained, Mike is prepared to arbitrate or litigate claims throughout the State and Federal Courts in Maryland, Virginia and DC.
Mike represents developers, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and other construction professionals in all aspects of the construction process ranging from contract review to litigation or alternative dispute resolution. He regularly handles matters involving breach of contract and payment disputes, mechanics liens, and other claims.
Mike has experience handling a variety of civil litigation matters ranging from contract disputes, business torts, residential and commercial real estate disputes, post-judgment enforcement and collections, non-compete claims, and violations of the home improvement licensing law and regulations.
A significant part of Mike’s law practice also includes representing buyers and sellers involved in residential real estate contract disputes, including claims related to:
- Wrongful failure or refusal to complete settlement
- Disputes involving the return or disposition of earnest money deposits
- Proper exercise or removal of a contract contingency
- Contract interpretation
- Commission and fee disputes
- General breach of contract claims
Mike has been repeatedly recognized by Maryland and D.C. Super Lawyer Magazine, and as a “Top Lawyer” in 2019 and 2021 by Bethesda Magazine.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College in 2003, Mike attended American University, Washington College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 2006. During his time in law school, Mike was a judicial intern for four senior Judges at The Superior Court for the District of Columbia and a law clerk for a boutique litigation firm. After graduation he began his career at a mid-size law firm focusing exclusively on family law before joining another prominent litigation firm where he spent five years handling construction, business and commercial matters. In 2013 Mike formed his own law practice, Bramnick Law, LLC, which became Bramnick Creed, LLC in 2019 with the addition of Joseph Creed as partner.
In 2019 Mike was inducted as a Fellow of the Maryland Law Foundation. His selection as a Fellow is recognition of Mike’s dedication to the welfare of the legal community, the administration of justice, and the traditions and objectives of the Maryland Bar.
